Text Box: it on to one of our members in law enforcement. The lock has been moved to the gate by the road which may cut down on non-member use. Directors and members have been building target frames for general use the ranges. You may have noticed that different ranges take different width target frames. I would like to think that we planed it that way after a number of engineering studies and meeting, but I can’t. We have scheduled a general clean up and work day on June 7th starting at 9am weather permitting. The executive committee now has computer generated 3D drawings of a new club house. We are looking for member input regarding the need for such a facility. It is the general feeling of the directors that club dues be used for operating expenses only and that any building expense be covered by other monies. Text Box: Black Fly season seems to be reaching its peak so summer can’t be far behind. We may be paying for the mild temperatures last winter with increasing numbers of wood ticks. I have personally encountered the little devils for the second year in a row. If the white nose bat problem has reached this area we may have a lot more insects to deal with this summer. The up side is that clouds of black flies and mosquitoes around your sights can be blamed for the occasional missed shot. We appear to have had more members using the club through the winter this year. The debris left when the snow finally melted was measured in pick-up loads this spring. A surprising variety of non regulation targets were disposed of. A wheelbarrow and 14 car tires were among the nonconventional items. I ask that members limit their choice of targets to more conventional material. Tires which I am told may be disposed of for little or nothing, in some towns north of here cost $7 a piece in St Johnsbury. We have also had some minor vandalism around the ranges with range cover supports taking the brunt of the damage.
