Text Box: actually SHOOTING on the right side of the range at a target down at 100 yards!!!
      4) SHOTGUN ONLY ON THE TRAP RANGE!!! With fields actively being farmed just beyond tree line, we just CAN NOT have rifles shot down on that range. This is a serious safety issue that can result in our range being shut down!!! Anyone caught shooting anything other than shotgun on the trap range can expect immediate termination of membership.
      5) Keep muzzles pointed downrange. Take a look at the tin roofs over the shooting benches, and you’ll see a few holes. We’ve had two rounds go through the target storage door on the left side of the 100 yard range. It’s probable that those were intentional, but I’d hate to be standing to the side of someone when the unintentional happens!

There are signs posted at all ranges, though they may be faded just a bit. The rules are there for everyone to follow, and there to make sure we keep the range safe and make sure it’s there in the future!
A few of the obvious activities not by the rules include:
     1) DON’T SHOOT AT ‘TARGETS’ ON THE GROUND. This may cause ricochets that deflect above the berms and backstops.
     2) NO TIN CANS, BOTTLES, APPLICANCES, ETC AS TARGETS. This leaves a mess that someone has to pick up. It’s also dangerous when the person mowing runs over it.
     3) DO NOT HANDLE FIREARMS IF ANYONE IS DOWN RANGE. Folks, this is just about at the top of the list for range operation safety. On the 100-yd range last year, we have a report of someone checking a target on the left side of the range at the 50 yard line, and another shooter Text Box: Volume 3, Issue 1
